ROLE SUMMARY
The Job holder will be responsible for the provision of strategic human resource advisory services including recruitment & selection, placement, retention, training and development, performance management, discipline, administration of staff welfare and separation, coordination of administrative matters, security services, and records management.
Duties and Responsibilities
(i) Formulating and ensuring implementation of leading Human Resources,
(ii) Administration and Security strategies and policies in line with the organization’s core values and Kenyan Labor laws;
(iii) Setting divisional goals and providing necessary direction to managers within own purview based on the Organization’s aspirations;
(iv) Ensuring continuous review and assessment of the effectiveness and efficiency of the Organization’s HR policies, procedures, and processes and identifying improvement opportunities;
(v) Advising on appropriate organizational structure, aligned to the Organization’s talent management, HR operations, and administration strategy; to maximize organizational effectiveness;
(vi) Contributing to and advising on change management, especially with regard to the development and shaping of the workforce in line with business needs and considering current HR trends;
(vii)Setting and continuously reviewing employee engagement benchmarks and KPIs based on best practices to align with the Organization’s strategy and advice on changes as appropriate;
(viii) Ensuring the Organization acquires, trains, develops, and retains high caliber, skilled and well-motivated employees capable of matching present and future operational and business requirements in line with the Organization’s Strategy;
(ix) Overseeing the Organization’s performance management system and advising senior management on appropriate benchmarks for staff;
(x) Continuously reviewing, managing, and putting forward proposals concerning compensation and benefits to ensure that the Organization remains a competitive employer;
(xi) Monitoring negotiations of the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) and ensuring the implementation of agreed recommendations e.g. salary increases, leave, allowances, etc.;
(xii)Regularly updating the office procedures manual and ensuring that the provisions have been fully implemented; and
(xiii) Managing administration services staff to ensure effective management of office premises including utilities and facilities, travel, and accommodation and ensure these are secure and efficiently utilized.
(xiv) Overseeing protection of the Organization’s property, office premises, and assets, both developed and undeveloped; and
(xv) Gathering intelligence on potential security threats to the organization’s assets and personnel;

Requirements for Appointment
(i) Served for a cumulative service period of fifteen (15) years, three (3) of which must be at the position of Assistant Manager, or a comparable position;
(ii) Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following disciplines; Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Social Sciences, or a related field from a recognized Institution;
(iii) Master’s Degree in any of the following disciplines; Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Social Science,or a related field from a recognized institution.
(iv) Leadership course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized
(v) institution;
(vi) Certified Human Resource Professional qualification, CHRP (K) or its equivalent from a recognized institution;
(vii)Membership to a relevant professional body and in good standing;
(viii) A Practicing License;
(ix) Proficiency in computer applications;
(x) Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution; and
(xi) Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
