Job Description

ROLE SUMMARY

To provide Strategic Leadership on all aspects of Investments, Property Management, Finance & Accounts.

The successful candidate shall be engaged on a five-year contract, renewable once. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

i. Advising the CEO on Viable investment options and on all fund-related matters.

ii. Initiate development of policies, regulations, guidelines and strategy for fund management.

iii. Developing the investment agenda for the CEO.

iv. Initiating the development of Organization’s investment plans and strategy.

v. Ensuring implementation and compliance with the investment plans and strategies.

vi. Recommending to the Board on strategic investments opportunities.

vii. Establishing linkages with strategic financial partners.

viii. Regularly meeting with investment analysts and financial strategic partners to discuss investment opportunities.

ix. Ensuring timely and efficient transfer of funds for Investments and Operations.

x. Leading in Investment negotiations.

xi. Ensuring prudent management of all investment portfolios.

xii. Ensuring investment opportunities are aligned with the Organization’s strategic objectives.

xiii. Collaborating with other Departments for coming up with Cash flow projections.

xiv. Ensure investment Portfolio are aligned with statutory guidelines and strategic objectives.

xv. Liaison with external service providers including fund managers, project developers and advisers.

xvi. Advising the Board on the investment environment.

xvii. Approving department budgets and work plans.

xviii. Managing staff of the department.

xix. Ensuring performance appraisal of staff in the department.

xx. Ensuring debts and outstanding contributions collections

xxi. Ensuring prudent utilization of the resources of the organisation

xxii. Develop and monitor risk assessment and management policies and controls.

xxiii. Develop, monitor and report on the department workplan and performance targets.

xxiv. Develop, monitor and ensure prudent utilization of the departmental budgets.

xxv. Develop and monitor implementation of the procurement plan.

xxvi. Mentoring and coaching staff.

xxvii. Prepare and submit timely reports and information for decision making.

xxviii. Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.


REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT

i. Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: -Commerce (Accounting/Finance Option), Finance, Business Administration, Business Management or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution.

ii. Master’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: -Commerce (Accounting/Finance Option), Finance, Business Administration, Business Management or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution.

iii. Holder of CPAK or equivalent qualifications.

iv. Membership in good standing of a relevant professional body

v. At least twelve (12) years working experience five (5) years of which must be at a senior management position.

vi. Leadership course lasting not less than four (4) weeks

vii. Proficiency in computer applications.

viii. Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the constitution.

vii. A valid Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (not more than 6 months)

viii. A current application for clearance from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission
