Job Description

1. Senior Human Resource Officer-LP4

\\tTerms of Service: Permanent

An officer at this level will work under the supervision of a more senior officer. 

a) Duties and Responsibilities

 

(i) Developing effective job advertisements for approved positions for new staff and interns;

(ii) Analyzing received applications as per the advertisement requirements and drafting letters to shortlisted candidates inviting them for interview;

(iii) Preparing letters of offer to successful candidates and sending regret letters to unsuccessful candidates;

(iv) Facilitating confirmation in appointment of newly recruited staff who have completed their probation periods;

(v) Coordinating all matters pertaining to interns and process their leave requests;

(vi) Maintaining staff establishment and preparing a resourcing plan;

(vii) Verifying pay change advice for promotion, demotion, re-designations and new appointments;

(viii) Analyzing staff requests for promotions/upgrading and preparing briefs for presentation to the relevant committee for deliberation;

(ix) Inputting and maintaining accurate staff data in the HRMIS (SAP);

(x) Drafting retirement notices for signature and preparing staff clearance letters and forms; and

(xi) Preparing the list of long service staff awards and certificate of service recipients and forward to procurement for printing of the certificates.

(xii) Coordinating in-house training activities and maintaining records on approved

(xiii) training activities;

(xiv) Analyzing requests on incremental credits and tuition refund;

(xv) Receiving and authenticate invoices from training providers for processing of payment;

 

b) Requirements for Appointment

\\tFor appointment to this grade, an officer must have:

(i) Served for a cumulative service period of six (6) years’ three (3) of which must be at the Grade of Human Resource Officer I or a comparable position;

(ii) Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following disciplines; Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Social Sciences or a related field from a recognized institution;

(iii) Membership to a professional body in good standing;

(iv) Proficiency in computer applications; 

(v) Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution;

(vi) Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
