Job Description

1.  Assistant Manager, Human Resource & Administration-LP3

Terms of Service: Permanent

 

Our client, operating within the Pension Fund sector in the East African region, is looking to fill key positions to join a team dedicated to delivering client centric services aligned with its strategic goals and plans for the next five years and beyond. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, candidates must be prepared to take on vital roles defined by the policies and frameworks established to fulfill the organization’s core mandate.

This officer will be responsible to the Manager, Human Resource.

\\ta) Duties and Responsibilities

\\t Formulating and ensuring implementation of leading human resource strategies and practices;

(i) Identifying the resources and skills needed to deliver on the strategic plan and leading the acquisition of those skills through recruitment, training, and employee career management;

(ii) Ensuring performance appraisals are conducted and the appraisal outputs and resolutions are implemented;

(iii) Constituting Joint Industrial Committees to deliberate on arising industrial issues to enhance good industrial relations;

(iv) Ensuring that disciplinary and grievance procedures are followed and participating in the disciplinary and grievance processes;

(v) Ensuring occupational Health and Safety measure are in place and are followed;

(vi) Overseeing the effective management of the payroll, Staff Medical Scheme, Staff Loans Scheme and Staff Insurances;

(vii) Ensuring adherence to the defined culture by modelling the appropriate behavior required to meet human resource demands and performance expectations; and

(viii) Ensuring collaboration amongst the staff with other Departments and relevant stakeholders for the purpose of cultivating collective responsibility to achieve Fund’s objective.

 

\\tb) Requirements for Appointment

\\tFor appointment to this grade, an officer must have:

(i) Served for a cumulative service period of twelve (12) years’ three (3) of which must be at the Grade of Principal Human Resource Officer, or a comparable position;

(ii) Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following disciplines; Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Social Sciences or a related field from a recognized institution;

(iii) Master’s Degree in any of the following disciplines; Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Social Sciences or a related field from a recognized institution;

(iv) Leadership Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized Institution;

(v) Membership to a professional body in good standing;

(vi) Practicing License where applicable; 

(vii) Proficiency in computer applications; 

(viii) Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution; and

(ix) Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
